Most people have never thought about it. We hadn't either - until we did. And then we couldn't stop thinking about it.

We met in New York, working at the same PR agency, and spent years deep in the beauty industry across New York, Melbourne and Sydney. We loved it. We also knew it well enough to spot what was missing.

Nobody was making a lip balm with any real thought about what goes inside your body. Everything was either a $3 drugstore staple or a fashion brand extension. Nothing was asking the question we kept coming back to: if you're going to ingest this stuff anyway, shouldn't it actually be good for you?

So we built it ourselves. From scratch - no shortcuts, no white-labelling, no off-the-shelf formula with our name on it.
